Since the last time I updated my blog, I have completed my design (story boards) and my structure diagram, my design has be accepted by my client therefore I have started making the website, I have nearly completed the template of the website but have over run in collecting the information for the website, however this has not affected me in any way what so ever as it was not in the critical path and could over run by 4 days without having any impact on the project deadline. I have also learnt how to use sprays and have including a verity of different sprays in the design but not only because it is what I have to learn to do but also to give the design a good look, therefore sprays will be used for both reason (learning and to make the website look good). I am on task with my plan (Gantt chart) and think I will be able to meet the deadline of the project without a problem, I have also got extra time to catch up if I do fall behind as I had to create the test plan early due to my clients need had changed. Due to the fact that this is my first project, I have made a good use of my Gantt chart planning and am keep in line with it, the only thing that I haven’t done according to my plan is to create a test plan as I had to do it early, but in a way this is a good thing as I have now got extra time to do other work if I need more time.

I have now updated my Gantt chart and have gone further into detail (listed more tasks that are done in-between each stage), I am also tracking my progress as you can see in my Gantt chart below.

Since last time I have created a project spec report and have also got my feedback on it, I am now going to amend the spec according to my client and will re-submit it by Friday. I am also planning on starting my story board and structure diagram on Thursday.

I Have now started doing my Gantt chart, I have worked out that I have got 21 college days till I have to finish the whole project, my Gantt chart has been made to this deadline and I should be able to complete the project by then. Below is a screen print of my Gantt chart.

Project start up

Last week I started my project by doing a presentation for my client to make sure that I knew exactly what he wanted, my presentation was about who my stake holders are, what software/programs I am going to use for the project and all the problems that might occur and how I might be able to avoid the problems. The presentation also had the scope of the project and what I was going to do for the client (make a website), but I also listed alternative solution to the project. Today I have got an interview with my client in which I will be talking about the project, in this interview I will be asking question about things that I am unsure about.
